Orchard Alliance (OA), a subsidiary of The Christian and Missionary Alliance denomination (The Alliance, the C&MA), is seeking a Gift and Estate Design Consultant. OA is a nonprofit financial ministry headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colorado, that provides individuals, families, churches, and like-minded organizations with a wide variety of products and services. The primary responsibility of the Gift and Estate Design Consultant is to promote and facilitate current and future gifts by providing biblical gift and estate design planning services to donors of The Alliance and other ministry partners of OA.
Primary Duties
- Meet with donors to gather sufficient information to analyze their gift or estate design needs
- Create gift and estate design plans and proposals to review with donors to develop a solid stewardship plan that takes into account the donor’s goals, assets, and family needs
- In keeping with the Gift Acceptance Policy, facilitate the finalization of gift planning agreements and estate planning documents in coordination with the donor and his/her advisor(s), when appropriate, and review document drafts prior to execution to ensure accuracy
- Submit complex gift plans and agreements to the Gift Acceptance Committee as directed by the VP for Gift and Estate Design Services
Education and Skills Required
- Four-year college degree in a related field or equivalent combination of work experience and education
- Five – seven years of experience in a related field, such as financial or investment advising, ministry, or fundraising
- Three – five years of experience within the C&MA
Preferred Skills/Abilities
- Extensive knowledge of legal and technical gift and estate planning concepts and regulations
- The ability to analyze complex problems and develop solutions in writing to address various gift and estate design issues
- Extensive knowledge of biblical generosity and stewardship with the ability to accurately communicate the truth of God’s Word and inspire donors to excel in the grace of giving
- The ability to respectfully and assertively lead donors to complete the planning process
- The ability to utilize computerized software applications and operate various office equipment such as telephone, computer, printer, copier, fax, and calculator
- The ability to communicate professionally and effectively verbally (including public speaking) and in writing
- The ability to build strong working relationships, internal and external to the organization
- The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form
- The ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- The ability to effectively present and comprehend information from co-workers and management
- The ability to manage time effectively, including the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities and to effectively meet deadlines
- The ability to handle moderate exposure to stress
